From seed to shelf: The herb story behind our farm

At our integrated farm, every leaf tells a story, and our herbs are no exception.

Nestled among the bustling clucks of chickens and the gentle lowing of cows, our herb gardens are quietly thriving. But two plants in particular are preparing to take center stage: rose geranium and mullein.

Why Rose Geranium and Mullein?

These aren’t just pretty plants. Rose geranium, with its sweet floral scent, is prized for its essential oils, consumption, for your home use and skincare benefits.

Mullein, tall and velvety, has a long history in traditional medicine, especially for respiratory health. As we prepare to go commercial with these two, we’re investing in sustainable growing practices and exploring partnerships that align with our values.

Growing with Intention:

Our herbs are grown with the same care we give to our animals and crops. No shortcuts, no chemicals, just rich soil, clean water, organic fertilizer and a lot of love.

Alongside rose geranium and mullein, our herb section includes rosemary, lavender, thyme, mint, and many others. Each one plays a role in our ecosystem, attracting pollinators, repelling pests, or simply adding beauty and fragrance to the farm.

The Nursery: Where Growth Begins

Our nursery is the heartbeat of our plant life. It’s where seedlings are nurtured, trees are raised, and herbs are propagated. Whether you’re looking for a hardy fruit tree or a fragrant herb to start your own garden, our nursery is a place of possibility.

Meet the Hands Behind the Green

We’re a team of eight, each bringing something unique to the soil. Sbu and Zwelakhe, and Kate are part-timers, but fully committed to the vision.

Every plant we grow and every animal we raise is a reflection of our shared passion for regenerative farming.

What is Next?

As we move toward commercial production of rose geranium and mullein, we’re excited to share more about the process, from harvesting to distillation, packaging, and beyond.

Stay tuned for updates, and if you’re curious about how these herbs can benefit your home or business, we’d love to hear from you.
